morgan_dhu favours "The Day After Tomorrow" due to the sweet, rich schadenfreude of the ending in which the surviving Americans are reduced to refugees begging for aid from Mexico.
I'm thinking more of a popcorn-and-caviar combo like "2012" (of course) followed by either "Last Night" or "On The Beach."
