House: finishing

After the incredibly annoying bureaucratic delays discussed previously, Shawn and his team began making rapid progress.



A mere four days after finally passing the blasted inspection (February 24th), we had ceilings again, and judging by the size of our heating bill, not a moment too soon:



And we had walls:





And half inch thick plywood lining the entire bathroom -- no matter where morgan_dhu needs a grab bar in the future, we will be able to put it there:



The holes in the basement floor were still there (albeit filled in with dirt), but a massive pile of concrete mix bags promised that they were not long for this world:



A week later (March 3rd), we had plaster:





Not to mention Ditra (a crack-proof tile underlayer thing)



A new back door (partially hidden here by the shower seat box):



A new living room window:



And a basement floor that was no longer a landscape of holes and dirt, but rather newly tiled:



On March 9th, the floors were tiled:





We had a shower stall:



The gaps in our hardwood floors where walls had been were all fixed, and the floors had been sanded:



Ten days later, we had paint:





And five days after that, the house was all-but finished:







A great many more things also happened, but I think this post has grown long enough.
