Yeah. The interconnections between technologies make it hard to understand at the superficial level that people get taught in school, just how much harder it is to export a technological apparatus to, say, make beads, or produce cloth, compared to the ease with which trade goods can travel across the entire planet, from a place where they're seen as pedestrian and worthless to a place where they're amazing and highly valued.
